Mid Joint Clamp

Mid-Joint Clamps: Reliable Cable Protection Between Couplings

For enhanced downhole cable protection, pair FET’s Mid-Joint Clamps with our Cross-Coupling Protectors along the tubing string. Installed between tubing joints, these clamps secure virtually any configuration of control lines, capillaries, or cables, ensuring stability and protection throughout the well.

Designed with a compressive fit mechanism that meets American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications, these clamps accommodate both oversize and undersize tubing while providing a firm engagement of the cables to the tubing body.

Part of FET’s Cannon Services product line and the broader Multilift Solutions catalog, our mid-joint clamps are designed for optimal performance in even the most demanding well environments.

Key Benefits

  • Prevents costly damage to cables and capillaries during installation and retrieval
  • Highly reusable, which is ideal for reducing costs during well workovers
  • Protects cable integrity in complex offshore and subsea well designs
  • Quick and easy installation reduces workover time and operational costs

Features

  • Compatible with all cable and line configurations
  • Available in corrosion-resistant alloys and specialty steels
  • Multiple channel designs to support and separate multi-line configurations

Applications

  • Artificial lift systems
  • Permanent downhole gauges
  • Intelligent well completions

ESP POD System: Advancing Artificial Lift Performance

As well completions grow more complex, artificial lift remains a critical factor in maximizing production. A successful lift strategy depends on simplifying downhole configurations, planning for future interventions, and extending the equipment’s run life. FET’s advanced artificial lift solutions, such as the ESP Modular Y-Tool and Encapsulated POD Systems, are designed to meet these challenges head-on.

These systems are easy to install and maintain, offering key advantages like:

  • Extended ESP run-life
  • Bypass access for direct reservoir intervention
  • Independent production from multiple pay zones
  • Protection of casing in corrosive environments

Encapsulated Protection for Harsh Downhole Conditions

Harsh wellbore environments can significantly reduce the lifespan of electric submersible pumps (ESPs), leading to costly replacements and downtime. One of the most effective solutions is the ESP encapsulation system – also known as a POD or CAN system – which encloses the pump in a sealed, protective housing. This design allows fluids to flow through the POD while shielding the ESP from corrosive and damaging well fluids.

FET’s custom-engineered ESP POD systems encapsulate, isolate, and support ESPs in a variety of configurations, including dual and multi-zone production. FET pioneered the industry’s first successful dual-tandem ESP POD encapsulation system in 2015.

These systems are:

  • Easy to install, inspect, and test
  • Built to isolate casing from over-pressure and corrosion
  • Designed to prevent equipment damage and production loss

Key Benefits

  • Increases production by enabling ESPs in series and reducing horsepower requirements
  • Isolates casing from over-pressure and corrosive fluids
  • Protects ESPs and prevents production loss from casing damage
  • Supports hydraulic-commanded tools for drill string testing

Features

  • Simple field assembly, disassembly, inspection, and testing
  • Available in a range of metallurgies, sizes, and connection types

Applications

  • Highly deviated, vertical, or horizontal wells
  • Well testing operations
  • Dual ESP systems
  • Corrosive fluid production
  • Onshore, offshore, and subsea/deepwater wells

FET’s ESP POD systems are part of our extensive Multilift artificial lift solutions catalog.
