ASME Code Vessels

Separators

A Separator is an ASME pressure vessel that separates the oil and gas stream into gaseous and liquid components used at onshore processing stations and offshore platforms. FET offers various 2- and 3-phase separators in both vertical and horizontal configurations.

The 2-phase separator separates the well fluids into gas and liquid. The liquid leaves the vessel at the bottom through a level-control dump valve, and the gas leaves the vessel at the top through a mist extractor to remove any remaining liquids from the gas.

The 3-phase separator separates the well fluids into gas and two types of liquids — oil and water. Typically called a “free water knockout” (FWKO), its primary purpose is to remove water. If not removed, the water can cause corrosion and the formation of hydrates in the vessel, which are difficult to break apart. The discharged liquids from the separator get further treatment in vessels called treaters downstream of the separator.

Fuel Gas Scrubbers

A Fuel Gas Scrubber is an ASME code vessel that removes liquid droplets from a gas stream to protect downstream and prevent damage or failure. Typically, this vessel is used upstream of gas-treating equipment that contains dry desiccants or mechanical equipment, such as compressors. You can also be use it downstream of equipment where liquids have condensed from gas.

FET offers a wide variety of fuel gas scrubber applications. Keeping the operator in mind, we produce the most user-friendly equipment on the market with optional skid, instrumentation, and piping completed in-house, making installation on location more effortless and more efficient.

Vapor Recovery Tower

A Vapor Recovery Tower is a pressure vessel installed between a separator and a tank battery. The tower recovers vapor near atmospheric pressure that stimulates flash losses that tanks would typically cause. They help minimize air and oxygen out of pipelines and are the last vessels in the facility to collect any vapors produced from liquids.

FET engineers and manufactures vapor recovery towers to your conditions and provides a custom unit tailored to your needs. We also install any instrumentation or piping in-house to help minimize work at the facility and provide commissioning on location with one of our certified technicians to help with start-up and any issues that may arise.
