ASME Code Vessels
Separators
A Separator is an ASME pressure vessel used for separating the oil and gas stream into gaseous and liquid components. Separators are used for onshore processing stations and for offshore platforms. Separators can be built in a horizontal or vertical design and built for 2-Phase or 3-Phase separation.
Forum offers a wide variety of 2- and 3-Phase separators in both vertical and horizontal configurations. A 2-Phase separator separates the well fluids into gas and liquid. The liquid leaves the vessel at the bottom through a level control dump valve, and the gas leaves the vessel at the top through a mist extractor to remove any remaining liquids from the gas. A 3-Phase Separator, or Free Water Knockout (FWKO), separates the well fluids into gas and two types of liquids (oil and water). This style of separator is typically called a “free water knockout” because its main purpose is to remove water. If not removed, the water can cause corrosion and the formation of hydrates in the vessel, which are difficult to break apart. The liquids that are discharged from the separator are further treated in vessels called treaters downstream of the separator.

Fuel Gas Scrubbers
A Fuel Gas Scrubber is an ASME code vessel that can be built to many different sizes and configurations. Fuel Gas Scrubbers remove liquid droplets from a gas stream to protect downstream and prevent damage or failure. This vessel is typically used upstream of gas treating equipment that contains dry desiccants or mechanical equipment such as compressors. They can also be used downstream of equipment where liquids have condensed from gas.
Forum offers a wide variety of Fuel Gas Scrubber applications. Keeping the operator in mind, Forum produces the most user-friendly equipment on the market with optional skid, instrumentation, and piping completed in-house, making installation on location easier and more efficient.

Vapor Recovery Tower
A Vapor Recovery Tower is a pressure vessel that is installed between a separator and a tank battery. The tower is placed to recover vapor near atmospheric pressure that stimulates flash losses that tanks would normally cause. Vapor Recovery Towers help minimize air and oxygen out of pipelines and are the last vessels in the facility to collect any vapors produced from liquids.
Forum can engineer and manufacture Vapor Recovery Towers to your conditions and provide a custom unit tailored to your needs. Forum can also install any instrumentation or piping in-house to help minimize work at the facility. Forum will also provide commissioning on location with one of our certified technicians to help with start-up, and assistance with any issues that may arise.
