Pressure Seal Gate, Globe & Check
DSI Pressure Seal valves are expertly engineered for high-pressure, high-temperature environments such as:
- Steam generation stations
- Industrial and chemical processing plants
- Thermal power generating facilities
- Other demanding processing operations worldwide
DSI Pressure Seal valves deliver reliable performance and long service life and are manufactured in strict compliance with ASME, ANSI, ASTM, API, and other relevant standards.
The product line includes:
- Gate Valves: Flex-wedge and parallel slide designs
- Globe Valves: Straight and Y-pattern configurations
- Check Valves: Swing, lift, and tilt disk types
Advanced Pressure Seal Design
Our pressure seal valves feature a segmental thrust ring that absorbs internal pressure thrust, ensuring structural integrity under extreme conditions. A hardened stainless steel protective ring shields the top surface of the soft steel, which may be constructed from 304 or 316 stainless steel. The high-density graphite gasket is designed for easy removal without damaging the valve body’s sealing surface—enhancing maintainability and reducing downtime.
General Design Specifications
DSI Pressure Seal Valves are manufactured in strict accordance with the following standards:
- ASME B16.34
- ASME B16.10
- ASME B16.25
- API 598

Pressure Seal Gate Valves
DSI Pressure Seal Gate Valves are engineered for high-performance applications and are available in various configurations to meet demanding service conditions.
- End Connections: Buttweld and Flanged
- Size Range: 2″ to 24″
- Pressure Class: 600 to 4500
- Design Styles: Flexible Wedge and Parallel Slide
- Materials: A216 WCB, WC6, WC9, C5, C12, C12A, CF8M, and special alloys
Standard Construction Features
Flexible Wedge Design
The flexible wedge is a one-piece, fully guided cast wedge with a central hub. This design allows the seating faces to move independently, compensating for body seat distortion caused by thermal expansion or piping stresses. Key features include:
- 9° seating angle minimizes sliding contact during operation
- Wedging action ensures a tight seal, even at low differential pressures
- Stellite®6 hardfacing on seating surfaces for extended service life
- Resists sticking or binding when valves are closed cold and opened hot

Parallel Slide Design
The parallel slide gate features a split gate with two spring-loaded discs held together by a gate holder. This design ensures reliable sealing and smooth operation:
- Spring-loaded discs provide initial sealing force
- No wedging action, reducing seat wear and operating torque
- Beveled gate bottom guides the gate between seats during closure
- Stellite®6 hardfacing enhances durability under high differential pressures
Pressure Seal Globe Valves
DSI Pressure Seal Globe Valves are designed for high-pressure, high-temperature applications and are available in various configurations to meet critical service environments’ needs.
- End Connections: Buttweld and Flanged
- Size Range: 2″ to 24″
- Pressure Class: 600 to 4500
- Design Styles: Straight Pattern, Y-Pattern, and Non-Return (Stop Check)
- Materials: A216 WCB, WC6, WC9, C5, C12, C12A, CF8M, and special alloys
Standard Construction Features
Straight and Y-Pattern Seating Design
All DSI globe valves feature a guided disc design that ensures precise alignment and a secure seal against the seat. This design enhances sealing performance and reliability in demanding conditions.
- Unidirectional flow for controlled operation
- Hardfaced seating surfaces with Stellite®6 for extended service life and wear resistance
- Tight shutoff capability for high-pressure applications
Whether you need a straight pattern for standard flow or a Y-pattern for reduced pressure drop, DSI globe valves deliver dependable performance across various industrial applications.

Pressure Seal Check Valves
DSI Pressure Seal Check Valves are engineered for high-performance, high-pressure applications and are available in a variety of configurations to suit demanding service conditions.
- End Connections: Buttweld and Flanged
- Size Range: 2″ to 24″
- Pressure Class: 600 to 4500
- Design Styles: Swing Check design, Straight Lift Tilt Disc design, and Y-Pattern
- Materials: A216 WCB, WC6, WC9, C5, C12, C12A, CF8M, and special alloys
Standard Construction Features
Swing Check and Tilt Disc Designs
DSI Pressure Seal Check Valves are designed to prevent backflow in high velocity service environments. They are suitable for vertical up-flow and horizontal installations, offering flexibility across various piping systems.
- Hardfaced seating surfaces with Stellite®6 ensure long service life and resistance to wear
- Swing check valves provide a higher flow coefficient due to their larger flow area
- Tilt disc valves feature a non-slam design, minimizing water hammer and ensuring smooth operation
These valves are built for durability, efficiency, and reliability in critical service applications.
